Eating paper, tripping balls, and building condos? No. This is acid house, as in acid house music. With this book, Welsh invents a new form of literature- acid literature. There can be no debate that this is one of the best short story collection since Geoffrey Chaucer. The Acid House is a classic "young man looks out at the world and finds it total shite" book. I got an autographed copy. Envy me.
Note: Upon further reflection, Marabou Stork Nightmares is probably Welsh's best book.
