Tom Robbins

by McCutcheon
Tom Robbins has just finished his 7th book. In celebration we are putting him on the bus. It is long overdue anyway, something Trevor never lets me forget. So at least this will get Trev off my case and I’ll feel better about myself.

Robbins books are fun and smart, sexy and thought provoking. Reading Robbins is like slipping into a bath of champagne with someone you fancy. He is by far the best American author living in Seattle and writing today (besides me and the Sloth, of course).

Here are two quotes from the mind of Tom that inspire me to live and write:

"Sex and drugs, that’s where it’s always been. Rocket fuel to blast off into enlightenment."

"For the task of a writer is not to attain recognition or reward but to meditate upon our passing world and, through the working magic of language, awaken in the solitary reader a sense of wonder at that world."
